How do I switch the baro units from inHg to mb (hPa)?
The units used for the "ALTIMETER <altimeter_setting>" voice command and the BARO field on the COMMS page can be set from Menu > Settings > Voice > Barometric pressure units. |
How does the NAV sync feature work?
In the Pro version of the app, for aircraft that make use of X-Plane instruments, long pressing the NAV or APP buttons on the AUTOPILOT page will sync the nav radio's OBS to the Direct-TO course when receiving a VOR or the localizer front course when receiving an ILS or LOC. The radio must be receiving a signal for this to work, simply tuning a VOR station when out of range will have no effect. By default, both NAV 1 and NAV 2 radios' OBSs will be sync'd but this can be changed on the Settings -> Autopilot page. HDG (bug), ALT, VS and IAS can also be sync'd by long pressing their corresponding buttons. |
My PC's IP address keeps changing, how can I prevent this?
If you find that your X-Plane PC's IP address keeps changing then you may want to consider giving your PC a static DHCP address, see https://www.howtogeek.com/69612/how-to-set-up-static-dhcp-on-your-dd-wrt-router/ for more information. |
How do I broadcast the aircraft's location to other apps?
1. Enable mock locations by following the instructions found here, https://badelf.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000708633-enabling-android-mock-location. 2. Check that 'Settings -> General -> Location -> Mode' or 'Settings -> Security & location -> Location -> Mode' is set to 'High accuracy'. 3. Start XP Remote and enable 'Menu -> Settings -> Autopilot -> Broadcast aircraft location to other apps' or toggle the setting off then on again if the app was already running. 4. XP Remote needs to be running in the background to broadcast position updates so use the home (center) or overview (right) button to switch to other mapping apps. When you're done, switch back to XP Remote and exit the app using the back button. |
What voice commands are available?
There are voice command profiles available for generic X-Plane, HotStart TBM 900, Zibo 737, EADT x737, Flight Factor 757/767 (FF7x7), Flight Factor A320 Ultimate (FFA320) and the SSG Boeing 747-8 Inter v2 aircraft. Profiles inherit from the generic X-Plane profile which is why you will find irrelevant commands such as ARRESTING HOOK DOWN or PARACHUTE DEPLOY in the other profiles. Each profile's list of voice commands can be viewed and printed from within the app but we've also attached them to this FAQ for your convenience. We're planning on adding more profiles so please get in touch and let us know your favorite add-on aircraft. |
What's the Pro Upgrade in-app purchase?
The Pro Upgrade in-app purchase supports us in the continued development of the app and enables the following functionality:

Unable to connect to the ExtPlane plugin, why?
OK, so you've installed the ExtPlane plugin by extracting the contents of the ExtPlane.zip archive to the Resources\plugins folder of your X-Plane installation and started X-Plane. You've entered the first IP address from the 'Settings -> Network' page but still can't connect. Does your PC have a firewall running? If so then you may need to add a firewall rule/exception to allow incoming and outgoing access to TCP port 51000. Unfortunately adding a firewall rule/exception is vendor specific so we can't list the steps here, but if you Google for it, e.g. "mcafee personal firewall add exception", you should be able to find the information online. Note: On Windows, the plugin depends on the Visual C++ Redistributable
Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (vcredist_x64.exe) which can be downloaded from Microsoft should
you need it, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784.
If you see "X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/ExtPlane/64/win.xpl : Error Code = 126 : The specified module could not be found." in X-Plane's Log.txt
output, then you will need to install it. |
What does "Recognition service lagging" mean?
XP Remote makes use of Google's Speech Recognition Service to interpret your voice commands. This is an online service requiring internet access. If the service takes more than 15 seconds to respond to a request, you will encounter this error. This usually indicates an underlying network latency issue and if you frequently encounter this error, try turning off and on the device's Wi-Fi. |
